How to Create and Use Lightroom Import Presets

This is a tutorial for beginners to professionals that shows how to create a SOLID and reliable Lightroom import preset based on YOUR shooting style and the look YOU are going for.

I show you what hardly anyone else will be honest about, start at the bottom develop module with "Camera Calibration" and work your way up to the basic exposure settings. This method bases the overall look on your favorite camera profile and get's you closer, mostly better than what you see on the back of the camera when you are shooting. It also gives you a really solid starting point even if you are going to edit more to the extreme side. In this video, I explain my personal settings and why I choose them for every single import. You could even copy my setting, adjust it until you like what you see or just start from the beginning and make your own truly reliable import preset. I almost always export TIFF format and do further editing in Photoshop, so my preferences may not be what you are looking for if you start and stop at Lightroom, however, this is still a great way to do it either way. This tutorial is for RAW files only. Please stop shooting in JPEG and get insanely better results.
