How to Make Chainmail Out of Trash.

Do you have a lot of pop tabs from soda cans? Do you have a father who drinks more soda than he should? Need chainmail but you're broke? Never fear! This project is super simple and comes out looking surprisingly cool. The finished product reminds me of dragon scales.

1. Pop tabs. LOTS of pop tabs. If you think you're drowning in them, double that number.
2. Pliers
3. Wire cutters.

Hold the pop tab in the wire. Bend the top back with your thumb. Using the wire cutters, make a small snip in the top. Repeat for all of the pop tabs. All of them.

This part is a bit tricky to explain. Link them together in the order above. Make sure you close the little snips. I am making a skirt: if you want to go that route, link a chain long enough to go around your waist. Then just keep adding taps as shown. It really is that easy!
