Story Ideas and Plot

Create your story line! Decide on a story name and plot. (Example using WoF: five dragonets are destined to save the world from a terrible 20-year war. The name comes from a line of the prophecy: If she bows to a fate that is stronger and higher, she'll have the power of wings of fire.)

Here is my example (IF YOU COPY I WILL GET MAD AND I WILL SUE YOU): A girl named Fenix lives in the lowliest part of the land of Lyvia: Austiria's Ruins. But one day, her fate changes when a dragon named Silverkey crash-lands into her backyard.

Now make your own!

Choose a Symbol/Character

Choose a symbol or a character to be the main scene of your book cover.

SYMBOL: Choose a meaning or object that is important to your story (ex. The Hunger Games: Katniss [main character]'s special mockingjay pin that became an important symbol)

Here's my example: Silverkey's name is part of a prophecy; they need a silver key to fulfill it. And Fenix has a silver key in her stash. So that is something I could do for my book.

CHARACTER: Choose 1-3 important characters to add to the cover (ex. Keeper of the Lost Cities: Sophie Foster along with her best friend Dex in an important scene.)

Here's my example: I could draw Fenix and Silverkey since they are the are the main characters.

Backgrounds

Choose a background!

If you are doing SYMBOL, I recommend either a color or element that matches your symbol (e.x. black to symbolize the darkness of the Hunger Games, The Hunger Games)

Here's my example: A shiny, light blue that reflects the brightness of the silver key.

If you are doing CHARACTER, choose a scene! (e.x. the scene where Sophie and Dex get teleported back to the elf world when holding on to a lamp post, Keeper of the Lost Cities)

Here's my example: A scene where the main place in the story, The Shadowlands, is bombed by forces from another place.

Draw!
