How to Print Double Sided for HP DeskJet 2800 Series Printer

This guide explains how to print on both sides of a page when using your HP DeskJet 2800 series printer. Since this model does not support automatic double-sided printing, you will need to know how to manually reload the paper correctly to avoid misalignment when double-sided printing.

Supplies

Ensure That:

  1. Your printer is connected to your device. This can be done either wirelessly via the HP Smart app or through a USB Printer Cable (USB-A to USB-B if working with a PC).
  2. You have HP 67 Printing Ink and printer paper loaded inside the printer.
  3. Your device is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer if you are connecting wirelessly.

Learn How to Print in Portrait Orientation

Step 1: Adjust the Printing Settings

1.1. Open the print menu by pressing Ctrl + P

1.2. Set the orientation to Portrait orientation

1.3. Under the two-sided printing setting, select “manually print on both sides”. If that is not an option, hit “flip on long edge” instead

Step 2: Print the First Side

2.1. Click the Print button when you are ready to begin printing.

2.2. Allow the first side to print before proceeding.

2.3. A pop-up notification should appear on your device’s screen; do not push anything just yet.

Step 3: Reload and Print Second Side

3.1. Take the printed pages and flip them over while maintaining the same orientation (in other words: do not turn it upside down)

3.2. Place them back into the paper tray

3.3. Click OK on the pop-up to begin printing the second side.

Step 2: Print the First Side

2.3. A pop-up notification should appear on your device’s screen; do not push anything just yet.

Step 3: Reload and Print Second Side

3.1. Take the printed pages and flip them upside down and over before reinserting them into the paper tray.

3.2. Place them back into the paper tray

3.3. Click OK on the pop-up to begin printing the second side.
