Tree House
Can you really build a tree house using free pallets? In this video, I take on the challenge and build a tree house from reclaimed materials, keeping costs low and creativity high. From sourcing pallets to construction and finishing touches, I show the entire process, including what worked, what didn’t, and lessons learned along the way. This project is perfect if you’re into DIY builds, pallet projects, tree houses, or sustainable construction.

Supplies
Supplies for the Build:
- A very large, sturdy tree
- Lots of pallets (try to use pallets with the same dimensions)
- Recycled nails from old pallets
- A hammer and a saw
- Cedar logs for support poles
- A great location, preferably near water
The Floor
Build the floor by placing cedar beams between the crooks of the tree branches. Join several pallets together to form the base of the flooring. I added a tarp underneath to help keep everything airtight.
Build the Walls and Roof
Take several slats from other pallets to build the walls. I used wood beams placed between other tree branch crooks to create the roof framing. For the windows, I recycled some old glass doors.
Cedar Shake Siding
Using a wood splitter, split some cedar into shake shingles, which work perfectly as siding.
