K'NEX H&K G11K2 (+ Internal Pics)
Hey guys. This is my fourth entry to the "Toy Rods and Connecters Contest," the Heckler & Koch G11K2 (G11). The original was designed to shoot caseless (no shell) ammunition, but, even after extensive testing, nobody ever adopted it for military service. Nevertheless, (I assume) it is an epic (looking and working) gun.
The original is 29 in. long, shoots shell-less ammunition (as already stated), and has a high-capacity magazine that is placed in the front of the gun (see pic #17). My version is also 29 in. (ish) long, shoots bullets out of a tubular magazine that is placed in the same place the actual magazine would have been placed, and is very sturdy and clean. If you would like more information as to the original, look here.
There has only been one other G11 (to my knowledge) that has been posted here on instructables. War Hawk One's G11 (see pic #20 [last one]) looked O.K., but it was missing many details and it did not shoot (this is not necessarily bad), and so, I bring you mine.
Features:
- Accurate Replica (IMO)
- Gets good range: 50 -70 ft.
- Correct length: 29 in.
- Nice (non-frivolous) sights
- Comfortable to hold
- Tubular magazine loaded (12-ish rounds)
- Nice pin-pull (see pic #12)
- Nice trigger pull
- Smooth mech
I would love to see what you guys think about it, so comment away.
