Keep Water for the Birds in Summers!
.jpeg)
I used to keep clay bowls filled with water for birds but due to too much heat of the sun they used to crack. So, I decided to use plastic bottles for the bird's water this time. Providing a reliable water source helps birds survive, especially in hot climates, while also promoting eco-friendly practices through the reuse of plastic waste. I used some part of the plastic bottles for other project and now I will be using the part left to use for this one.

Supplies

- Plastic bottles (I had 200ml and 500ml ones)
- A sharp cutter
- Hot glue gun (I don't have one so I usually heat the glue gun sticks and use them)
- Ice-cream sticks (collected last year during summers)
- Strings
- Nail & hammer
Prepare the Bottle

Rinse the bottle thoroughly to ensure no residue remains. Use a cutter to cut off the top section of the bottle, first heat its tip using a lighter and poke it inside the bottle about 1 inch below the neck then it will be easily cut using the sharpness of the cutter. I heated it especially because using the cutter to cut bottle is dangerous, it can slip and cause injuries.
Arrange the Bottle Tops

I chose the green and orange colored ones as the looked pretty awesome together. And arranged in a way I want to glue them.
Glue Them With Sticks

Place them on a flat surface and attach sticks to the cap part using hot glue. The structure is very strong as I used these ice-cream sticks.
Glue & Secure the Top Part

This step is important so the structure can't be broken apart easily. Use the glue carefully because if the bottle has drips of glue chunks, the birds might swallow them and we don't want that.
Find Suitable Place to Keep It

The most suitable place for me is my home's terrace boundary wall. I was not able to keep my clay bowls on this boundary because they might fall outside the house and hurt somebody. Now, I'm happy to place this structure so that birds can easily see them.
Bird Watching
This project may not be aesthetically pleasing for the viewers but it is for those thirsty birds. So, gather your materials and do something for the birds of your area.
