Hey everyone,

Here are instructions for my best working Knex Ball Separator to date. It's not too difficult to build, no motors are needed and works about 90% of the time when instructions are carefully followed.

You can check out step 1 for the special pieces that you'll need to build this separator. Also 11 Medium yellow (or grey) and 7 small bleu (or brown) gears are needed. If you don't have 11 Med yellow gears, don't worry, you can replace the 7 Med gears in step 9 and 10 with the Med red gears instead.

In step 19 you'll see that a little table needs to be made and fixed underneath the separator. This table puts the separator at an angle of 12 degrees, which is very important! So if you want to use this separator in one of your machines, make sure it stands at an angle of 12 degrees.

You can always watch the video to see how it works.

If there are any complains, problems or questions, feel free to pm me or tell me in the comments below.

Thanks for watching, building,

Thibault Art

btw: Sorry for my bad english, I'm working on it :).

Very Important Step:

Make sure that all 7 grey connectors attached to the yellow rods are exactly in this position.

Another Imprtant Step:

A little bit of space between every grey and oranje connector is highly recommended.

Make sure that there is 1 red connector going up and 1 down everytime you turn the octagonal wheel. If all 7 red connectors went up and down 1 time after the octagon did 1 complete spin, Congratulations! You placed every single gear perfectly :).

Little Detail:

It's possible that the ball jumps over a red connector. If this is the case, elevate the track just a tiny little bit untill the ball doesn't jump over the connectors anymore.
