Light Detector Circuit Micheal Myers Halloween Prop

image1.jpeg

I made a Light detector circuit that dims whenever the light dependent resistor detects darkness. Whenever there is light, the Led shines up bright and the opposite when there is darkness. I made this halloween prop because I felt this would be a cool and unique prop using a famous halloween charecter.

Supplies

In order to build my circuit, you would need 2 of each component. The components are One Small Breadboard, 2 330 Resistors, 2 10K Resistors, 2 NPN Transistors, 2 LDR's, 2 LED's, 4 Wires for connecions and grounding aswell as a 9 volt battery.

Connect LDR and 10K Resistor to Transistor

First you take one leg of the LDr and connect it to the +5v rail and then you connect the other leg of the LDR to the 10K resistor. The other leg of the 10K resistor gets connected to the ground and the junction between the 10k resistor and LDR gets connected to the base of the NPN Transistor.

Connecting LED

The next step is to ground the Emitter of the transistor to the ground. After this, you take the Cathode of the LED and connect it to the collector of the transistor. After this step, you take the other leg of the LED (anode) and connect it to the 330 resistor which should be grounded to the +5v rail.

Repeat the Process

After you complete your first circuit, you can make the second on the same breadboard by repeating all the steps to construct the next part of you circuit.

Test the Circuit

Once you complete the circuit, you now need to test the cicuit. To do this, you need a 9v battery and in order to see if the battery works properly, the LEd shoul be on right away when the battery is conneceted and wheneevr the LDR detects darkness, the LED should start to dim until it is completely off.
