MAKING a MINI FUTSAL INSTRUCTABLES:"SUPPORTER CHEER UP!"

On a free day from our busy studies, the five of us: Hasan, Dirga, Hamiz, Abyan, and Azka, were drawn to making this mini futsal toy because it's an educational and creative game that combines simple mechanical elements with sound engineering and component interactions. This was part of our learning project in our robotics club at school. This miniature model depicts a futsal match between two teams, complete with live spectator stands cheering when a goal is scored! We hope this toy appeals to you and your family, as it's fun to play with during your free time.
Supplies

Tools:
1 large pair of scissors
1 small pair of scissors
1 small 30 cm ruler
1 glue gun
1 wire stripper
1 object clamp
1 needle-nose pliers
1 popsicle stick soldering iron
1 soldering iron
1 small bowl
2 small brushes
Materials:
2 Instructables soccer player figure stickers (yellow and orange)
10 glue gun cartridges
1 soldering iron
1 soldering iron
1 piece of red impraboard
1 piece of yellow impraboard
1 used cardboard box
1 large marble
4 3-volt LEDs
2 2-watt speakers
2 audio recorders
5 3.7-volt batteries
5 battery compartments
Materials Used:
1. Cardboard: To construct the three-tiered grandstand frame (Lower, Middle, and Upper) and the base of the field.
2. Red and yellow impraboard: To construct 10 player figures (5 for the red team, 5 for the yellow team).
3. Popsicle sticks: Used to construct the two goals and as a support floor for the ball in the goal.
4. Cardboard drawing of the field: To serve as the base of the 30 cm x 50 cm field.
5. Straight wire and U-shaped wire: To create the levers that pull the spectators so they can move.
6. Limit switch: To detect a goal when the ball enters the goal.
7. Mini gearbox dynamo: To act as a mechanical spectator driver.
8. Audio recorder/player: To play the cheering sounds of the supporters.
9. Parallel cable: To connect the audio system and dynamo to the limit switch.
10. Large marble: Mini futsal ball.
11. Toothpicks & rubber bands: For the player's kicking system.
12. Round and semicircular impraboard: For the player's kicking mechanics.
13. 4 multi-colored flashing LEDs: For lighting effects on the field.
14. Small electrical switch: To turn on the LED lights.
FIELD BASE & STRUCTURE

1. Cut the thick cardboard into a **50 cm x 30 cm** rectangle.
2. Cover the top with duplex carton to make a flat playing surface.
3. Elevate the **middle section** (25 cm lengthwise) to **7 cm** height using layered cardboard.
4. Make the **goal side sections** (left & right) **3 cm** high.
5. Create smooth ramps from the center to the goal ends for proper ball rolling.
FIELD EDGE WALLS

- Attach green impraboard around the edges:
- Middle edge height 10 cm
- Goal edge height 3 cm
- Secure firmly around the entire perimeter.

3️⃣ BUILDING THE GOALS
- Build two goal boxes using ice cream sticks, each measuring 11 cm x 11 cm x 11 cm.
- Paint one goal red, and the other yellow
- Install a limit switch at the base inside each goal to detect when a ball enters.
---
4️⃣ MAKING THE PLAYERS
Cut 10 player figuresfrom yellow impraboard, each 6.5 cm tall
Stick Instructables mascot stickers on them:
5 with orange background
5 with yellow background
13. Attach each player to a 5.5 cm impraboard circle base using hot glue.
---
5️⃣ KICKING MECHANISM
At the front of each player's base, cut a small groove to act as a kicking foot.
Insert a toothpick vertically through the center bottom of each player.
Attach the toothpick below to a 6.5 cm diameter impraboard circle.
Add a rubber band hook below the circle for spring tension.
Each player is inserted into a special slot on the field, allowing limited movement.
---
6️⃣ "U"-SHAPED WIRE KICKER
On the back of each player, install a U-shaped wire
2 cm hidden inside the player
2 cm exposed for pulling
20. When the wire is pulled back and released, the rubber band snaps the player forward to kick the ball.
7️⃣ BALL & LAUNCHER
Use a medium-sized marble as the ball.
Stick black checkered tapeto mimic a real futsal ball.
23. Build a **random ball launcher**:
Cut a hole in the center of the field.
Insert a spring-loaded lever underneath, made from cardboard and rubber.
Press and release to shoot the ball in a random direction.
---
8️⃣ TRIBUNES & SOUND SYSTEM
Make 2 audience stands from cardboard, each 24.5 cm long x 16.5 cm tall.
Build 3 tiers of seats, each 6 cm high.
Install under each:
* 1 **sound module** (with recorded cheers)
* 1 mini speaker
* Connect to the opposing goal’s limit switch
When a ball enters a goal, the opposing team's tribune*plays its cheering sound.
Decorate with cardboard supporters, flags, and fan signs.
---
9️⃣ LED LIGHTING
Attach 4 flashing tri-color LEDs on the field edges.
Connect them in parallel to a 3.7V battery via a manual switch.
Place 2 near the center, and 1 near each goal for dramatic lighting.
HOW TO PLAY

Launch the ball from the center with the random lever.
Pull and release the U-wire on a player to kick the ball.
If the ball enters a goal:
The limit switch is triggered
The opposing team’s tribune plays recorded crowd cheers.
LED lights can be turned on manually to simulate stadium effects.
