Minecraft Prop

I made this for fun. I loved making it because I really enjoy making crafts. This sword is very easy to make and does not need many supplies. I used a lot of recyced items. This craft is suitable for all ages and will keep your kids off their devices and playing with each other. I made a smaller sword, but you can make this any size you like.
Supplies

Card board
Ruler
Scissors
Paper
Glue
Paint (or coloring supplies)
Tape
Modge podge
Sword Design

Draw out your sword design on the cardboard, using a ruler.
Cutting Time

Cut out the sword design using your scissors. (Make sure your scissors are sharp and you have parent supervision if you are not allowed to use scissors by yourself)
Tracing and Cutting

After you have cut out your sword, trace this sword onto another piece of cardboard. Now cut the second sword out.
Tape Together

Put the blades together and around the blades. You should now have a sword. Tape around the blades.
Decorating Time

I traced my sword onto white paper, so I could paint mine to look like a Minecraft sword, and then cut it out and glued to the sword. You can use any paper you want. If you try to paint the sword without paper, it may not work because of the tape. You do not have to use paint, use whatever you have available.
Seal It

Once the paint is dry, take Modge Podge and paint the sword to seal it. This will protect it.
Reflection

What I would do differently is I would wait more for the paint to dry. Try not to panic as much as I did, because I had a deadline. When I make this again I am going to use a thicker cardboard . I would not use a hair dryer to dry it because I felt it ruined it and I had to restart my painting process. I would definitely try to have more patience because you will makes mistakes and that is ok! The end is my favourite because I liked playing with it.
