I consider these 'naked' cake pops since they are not covered with a chocolate/candy coating. I didn't want that to compete with the flavor of the banana cake (which is microwaved in 5 minutes btw!) and the cream cheese frosting.
Try it, you'll like it!

Microwaved Banana Cake
2 very ripe bananas
1 T. softened butter
1/4 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. sugar
2 T. brown sugar
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1/2 c. quick oats
1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. cinnamon powder
Grease and flour a large coated paper plate. (Yes, you are seriously going to microwave this cake! It makes it super fast and easy. Great for a hot day when you don't want to turn on the oven or when you need a really quick and fancy dessert!)
In the bowl of a stand mixer add bananas, butter, peanut butter, sugars and vanilla. Mix to combine. Add in oats, flour, baking soda and cinnamon and mix until incorporated scraping down sides as necessary.
Pour batter onto prepared paper plate. Microwave 5 minutes on high. Watch your cake since every microwave is different. You may need to adjust the time, however, when the cake is done it will look dry on top and a toothpick inserted will come out clean.
Let cake cool on a rack. Once cake is cool turn out into a bowl. My cake stuck a tiny bit but since this cake was for cake pops it didn't matter. I wouldn't exactly recommend this for making a cake that needed to be presentable!

Cream Cheese Frosting
4 oz cream cheese, softened
4 T. butter, softened
2 c. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
In a small mixing bowl combine all ingredients, adding more or less powdered sugar depending on desired consistency, until smooth and creamy. Most of the time I don't even bother measuring, you really can't screw it up!

This is a very simple way to make a cute cake pop stand.
Wrap a piece of scrapbooking paper on a foam block like you are wrapping a present.
Mark out pop placement with a pencil and punch holes in the markings with a toothpick. This will prevent the paper from tearing when punching the sticks into the foam.

Using a spreading knife spread a small amount of frosting onto the top of each ball. Sprinkle with edible glitter. Put ball on a stick, top with a banana chip and call it a pop!
