Origami Night Light





I decided to share this origami night light as part of the contest. I hope you like it.
Supplies
A pair of siccors
Fairy lights.
30 translucent square stiff sheets of origami paper almost like butter paper but stronger
A ruler/scale
Bone folder(optional)
Glue(optional)
Making a Unit
For making the star you will need 30 units.
Each unit slots and locks into place with other units.

Floding the Unit.

















Step 1 : First fold the square paper in half horizontally and unfold.
Step 2 : fold one corner of the paper to the centre along the line you folded in step one.
Step 3 : fold the corner of the square opposite to the corner you folded in step 2 , along the horizontal crease you made in step 1 in the same way to the centre.
Step 4 : flip the paper over so that the folded corners are underneath .
Step 5 : fold the folded horizontal edge of the corner you folded in step 2 , along the crease line you folded in step 1 . The crease you make must be such that , the beginning of your crease starts from the point the folded edge of the corner underneath.
Step 6 : turn the paper 180 degrees to the right.
Step 7 : fold the folded edge of the corner underneath , along the crease line you folded in step one the same way you folded in step 5.
Step 8 : flip the paper over.
Step 9 : fold the flap originating underneath the first layer of paper to form a crease that touches the upper ending wedge like shapes' ending point and the lower fat beginning point of the lower flap.
Step 10: rotate the paper 180 degrees to the right.
Step 11 : fold the flap originating underneath the exact same way you folded the flap in step 9.
Step 12 : flip the paper over.
Step 13 : fold the remaining two flaps over and along the edges over the two flaps.
Step 14 : flip the paper over.
Step 15 : fold the diamond like shape such that the two wedge like ending points meet and line up. Then crease.

Assembling the Model





Assemble the model by first making 10 points of the star
By interlocking three units to form a single pyramid like point.make 10 of these .
Connect the 10 points with each other in the same way you connected the units. Insert the fairy lights and you have finished the night light.
