When my family moved to our current house, it was a very stressful situation.  It was a rushed move and my mom was in the middle of a year of chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer.  The house we moved into was not exactly our dream house and had no plants or garden to speak of.  There was this weird rectangular bed of dirt in the middle of the front patio with a big stump in the middle of it and we didn't really know what to do with it.  Well, my mom started planting seeds and plants that people brought her,the rest of the family started pitching in, and soon enough that weird rectangular bed of dirt was transformed into our beautiful flower garden.
Now, we have hummingbird feeders hanging up, a table and chairs and a futon and the flowers look like this!  It's one of my favorite places to be.
