Monitor Cooling System - PC Monitor Cooler

Simple and affordable solution for overheating pc monitor in hot environments. This system uses two rear-mounted fans to push cool air toward the back of the monitor, while a front-mounted plastic curtain deflects the airflow upward across the screen. The result: reduced thermal stress on key components and a cooler front bezel—especially useful for monitors prone to overheating.

Supplies

Materials:

  1. ​Two 140mm computer case fans
  2. ​A PWM fan speed regulator with a USB-C power input
  3. ​A USB-C cable
  4. ​Anti-vibration foam
  5. ​A plastic or wooden panel
  6. Anti dust mesh
  7. ​Glue or double-sided tape

Fan Anti-vibration Pads Installation

Assembly and Implementation:

  1. Prepare the Fans: Attach the anti-vibration foam to the bottom of the two 140mm fans. This will prevent vibrations from the fans from rattling against your desk.

Fan Anti-dust Mesh Installation

Attach anti dust mesh to the back of the fans (air intake side). I used little magnets to pin dust mesh.

USB C PWM Fan Speed Controller

Connect fans to the USB-C PWM controller and place it within reach.

Front Curtain

Create front curtain. I cut it from black plastic (0.5mm) but any material could be used for curtain. Curtain push up incoming air from behind of the monitor and cools whole screen.

Fan Positioning

Position the Fans: Place the fan assembly on your desk, directly behind your monitor. The fans should be positioned to blow air directly onto the back of the monitor to cool the internal components.

Test and Adjust: Use the PWM speed regulator to control the fan speed. Adjust it to find the perfect balance between effective cooling and low noise levels.
