PillPocket

6 woman out of 10 take a birth control some starting at the age of 14, forgetting to take it could be damaging for their health, cycle and even decrease their protection during sexual intercourse. A solution for them: scheduling alarms on their phones to be sure to not forget it ; the next problem is that their pill is not always with them. The risk of forgetting it is still there. We have found a solution for woman to have it on them at all time.
We would like to propose an object that holds pill tablets while hiding them for discretion and a card compartment for quick access, all attached to a phone.

Sketches Research

Going through design number 1 was a necessary step to better understand the user's needs. It revealed the importance of a slim object with compartments that required minimal effort to use. Design number 2 improved upon this by offering a more compact and aesthetically pleasing solution, while maintaining the same focus on compartmentalization and discretion perfectly aligning with the user's expectations.
Technical Drawings

Two compartments, two pushing systems and a place for the magnet. PillPocket.

Prototype Process

3D printing prototypes helped us understand PillPocket better:
1- Too big of a product to be attached at the back of the phone (can complicate the manipulation of the phone) and too complex of a mechanism.
2- Missing the pushing elements for an easy use of the product.
The Final Prototype

Try number 3 was the right one. We included two pushing elements, one on each side, that helps the user pull out the pills or cards - without giving away card information and being discreet with the medication. On the inside of the card compartment, we used a bending support piece that allowed to user to have from one card to three, preventing any of them to fall out.
