Pineapple-Mango Smoothie
Have you ever wanted something to drink on a hot day that isn’t difficult to make? Well, this is the perfect smoothie for you! Growing up, I loved eating pineapples and mangos. One day, I decided to make a pineapple-mango smoothie with a nice light blend on the watery side and thick side.
Also, if you've never cut a pineapple before, I recommend that you check out this YouTube video here by TastefullyGrace! Here's another video on how to cut a mango by SaengsKitchen! In my photos, I know I didn't use these cutting techniques. I decided to try and experiment, but it didn't turn out so well. I suggest you follow along with these videos on cutting a pineapple and a mango.
As for the blender, I recommend a Ninja Blender. I used the "Ninja Professional Plus With Auto-IQ," which is my favorite one so far.
In this instructable, I’m going to show you how to make a pineapple-mango smoothie.
Supplies
Here are the materials you need-
- Blender (any blender will work)
- 16oz Liquid measuring cup or a cooking scale (whichever you prefer)
- A cup
- Spoon (optional for the end)
- Straw (optional for the end)
Here is the list of ingredients that are needed-
- 1/2 Pineapple
- Whole Mango
- About 2 measuring cups of ice or 675 grams
- About 1-2 measuring cups or 240-480 grams of water
Buy or Make Ice
First off, you'll need some ice for this to be a proper smoothie. Get about 2 measuring cups of ice (675 grams) and set them aside for blending. I used about 2 measuring cups for my smoothie.
Get Water Ready
Get about 1-2 measuring cups (240-480 grams) of water and set it aside. The amount of water will depend on whether you prefer your smoothie on the thick or watery side. For the thicker side, use about 1 measuring cup (240 grams); for the more watery side, use 2 measuring cups (480 grams).
Pineapple Mango Preparation
Be sure that you buy one pineapple and one mango for this. If you want, you can buy two mangos so you can make this again!
Cutting the Pineapple
Start by twisting the crown of the pineapple until it comes off. The crown can be thrown away; we won't be needing it. Then cut the pineapple in half. You can save the other half of the pineapple for next time you make the smoothie, or for whatever you desire!
Smaller Chunks
Be sure to cut the pineapple into small chunks so it blends properly. The average chunk size is about 1x1 inch; the cuts don't need to be exact. As for the pineapple skin, it can be thrown away.
Cut the Mango
We'll be using the whole mango for this; cut it into pieces, the same size as the pineapple chunks, and the skin can also be thrown away.
Add Items to Blender
Add all of the items to the blender. Starting with 1-2 measuring cups of water (240-480 grams), then the pineapple and mango chunks, and lastly, 2 measuring cups of ice (675 grams).
Start Blending
If your blender has a smoothie blend mode, run it for about a minute and 30 seconds, or until you can see everything is well blended. If it doesn't, start off with the lowest blending mode, then gradually increase it every 10 to 15 seconds until it's blended well.
Enjoy!
Pour into a drinking cup, and you can use a straw, a spoon, or drink it straight from the cup. Enjoy your smoothie!
