Respect and Manners; UK Style
How to succeed in London
The Tube
On the tube (London Subway), it is imperative that you stand on the right side of the escalator so that those who choose to walk can on the left. When entering a train car with a backpack on, take it off before entry and place it between your feet when standing. You will be able to make more room for people on the carriage. Lastly, always let people that need to get off at a stop off before you try and get on.
Bars
In the UK, it is very common for many to grab a pint after work. Do not be alarmed. But also be aware. Know your limits. It is highly frowned upon to be drunk and be unable to handle yourself. You are only meant to have one or two drinks after work. It is not meant to turn into an all night thing.
Food and Eating
During my time in London there are a few rules that should be followed while eating at a restaurant with other people:
1) No elbows on the table
2) Ask for permission to eat from everyone if your food arrives first
3) Never eat the last bit of a shared plate
