Ruffled Arm Warming Cuffs
I crocheted a pair of cuffs for a costume to an event I planned on attending. I thought they were really comfy and they do keep my wrists in the cold weather. I decided I'd share these cuffs and submit them into this contest for fun. They can also be used for fashion, not just warmth.
Supplies
Materials:
Blue cornflower acrylic yarn (Big Twist, Value)
white acrylic yarn (RedHeart)
4.0mm crochet hook
darning/ crochet sewing needle
stitch marker
row counter
crochet scissors
Starting the Project
Take the blue Cornflower yarn and your hook, then make a slip knot. Insert your hook into the slip knot and make 34 chains. With a one loop on your hook insert your hook into the back of the very first chain. Yarn over and pull through then place your stitch marker. Look at the photos for reference
Continuing the Base
Single crochet the entire round until you reach the stich marker. Remove it and single crochet in that stitch then insert the stich marker into that new stitch. Continue using single crochet stitches for each round until you get to round 17. Once you're at round 17 you'll do a single crochet stitch then the decrease stitch until the end of the round. From round 18 to 21 you'll do a single crochet stitch for the entire round.
Making the Ruffles
At the end of round 21, do a color switch to the white yarn in the second to last stitch from the stitch marker. For the entirety of round 22 you'll do an increased stitch. Then in round 23 you'll do and increase, then single crochet stitch for the entire round. For round 24 & 25 you'll do single crochet stich for the entire round. At the end of the round of round 25, take out the stich marker. Insert your hook and fo a slip stich, pull the loop out long the cut the inside, leaving a tail. Pull the tail tight and that is the end oof the project. Any left of tails need to be sewn into the inside stitches.
