SKYLANDERS Focus on CHILL
Chill is based on the popular game SKYLANDERS,
The most important thing when building a costume for little kids is comfort, if the costume is uncomfortable the child will only want to wear it for a short time. This dress rehearsal gave the kids time to let me know if there was anything that needed to be changed or altered. It is very disheartening when you spend all the time required to build a costume only to have it so elaborate that the child cannot move and doesn't want to wear it.
Having built four full Skylanders costumes this year, I am very glad to be finished, there were definitely times when I reconsidered due to the time but pushed through and got them finished.
The Costume was all freehand and a vivid imagination molding the 3D pieces. So it is difficult to give advise but here it is.
I always start building with the helmet or mask, it is typically the most difficult and once you build that portion it gives you scale to the rest of the costume.
Always take measurements then add an inch or two. It is typically easier to take away then to add.
Take extra care on the paint. Once the costume is completely finished and ready for paint I am usually just wanting to get it done but the paint job is what makes the costume come to life.
I am pleased with the way this costume turned out and my son is super excited. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Glue gun
Lots of Hot Glue sticks
Dremel
Foam Interlocking Play Mats
Paint (Silver and Blue)
Sharp Box Cutter
Blue Pants
Silver/White Shirt
Plexiglass (Shield)
Nuts and bolts to attach the shield to the arm guard
Patience
