Sandpaper Disc Storage Rack

This Sandpaper Disc Storage Rack is a very quick build and will tame all those errant sanding discs laying around your shop. With storage for your sander on the top, it's a great way to get some organization for the sanding gear and paper in your shop.

Materials:

• 24″ x 24″ 3/4″ plywood sheet
• 24″ x 24″ 1/4″ plywood sheet
• 1-1/4″ Pocket Hole Screws
• P-Touch labeler and labels

From the 3/4" plywood cut a back piece to 15-1/2" long by 5-3/4" wide, 2 side pieces 15-1/2" long by 6-1/2" wide, and a bottom 5-3/4" square.

Drill pocket holes on the back side of the back and the underside of the bottom to assemble the rack.

Cut a series of 6 dados sized to the thickness of your 1/4" plywood. The first dado should be 2-3/4" from the bottom of the sides and then each 2" after that.

Finish the sides by rounding over the top corner.

Using 1-1/4" pocket hole screws assemble the rack. Using right angle clamps really helps here.

From 1/4" plywood cut 6 shelves to 5-3/4" by 6-1/4". Use a forstner bit to drill a finger hole on the front edge of each piece. I used a 1-1/2" bit for mine.

Install the shelves in the slots and use a p-touch labeler to put the grit of each sanding disc on a shelf. I have 80, 100, 120, 150, and 220 on mine and left the bottom space open for a hand sander and 60 grit when I have it around.
