Problem

Is there a way to survive a plane crash? We all know how risky a plane crash could be, and how the emergency landing would be frightening...

Our goal is to investigate a way for people in an aircraft to have a high chance to survive emergency landings because of how risky it is, with an advantage to decrease the percentage of deaths per year that are caused because of plane crashes.

Hypothesis

Our hypothesis is that this project would have a major impact on the world, not only it will save million of lives, it could be a great source of business between companies and an amazing project to work on.

Variables

The Variables In This Project Are:

Independent: The Airplane Shape. Dependent: The Result Of The Landing. Controlled: Mechanism Of Cabin Deployment.

Background Research

How They Work: During take-off, landing or flight, the redesigned cabin detaches from the plane and safely lands on the ground or water – saving everyone's lives on board, there are also rubber tubes that inflate to cushion the impact to the ground or water, and the inflatable devices seem strong enough to keep the cabin float.

Materials

- Computer: (To Conduct Research)

- Pen: (To Make The Blueprints)

- Paper: (To Draw The Blueprints On)

- Cardboard: (To Make Small Tests / As A Prototype)

Procedure

*Procedure*

1- We chose our idea, which is the detachable cabin.

2- We started to work on our project. (The Model, The PowerPoint, And The Board)

3- We made our finishing touches to the model to get ready for the science fair, and we checked both our powerpoint and board for grammar mistakes and that our information is correct.

4- The day that we presented our project to the school during the science fair event.

Data Analysis & Data

As you can see in the chart in the previous step, it shows that air crash deaths per year from 1972 to 2018. We can know that in the past few years air crash deaths decreased a lot due to investing in the detachable cabin. Crashes in the 21st decreased a lot then crashes in the 20th century. The most deadly year of accidents was 1972 it has more than 2450 accidents in 1 year.

Results

the results that we found, there were advantages and disadvantages, the advantages we’re, That the detachable cabin can save a lot of lives and decrease the percentage of people dying from aircraft accidents each year. And the disadvantages are, One of the disadvantages about the detachable cabin concerns the pilot, because the pilot may get stuck while going to the side where all the people in the aircraft should already be in, or he even may take too much time to go to the side of the aircraft where he would be safe and they fail the emergency landing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, our opinion is that if there were more investors that can support the project it will be a successful project and it will save many lives, and that it could decrease the percentage of deaths by aircrafts exploding per year which is a major advantage for the project.

Application

the importance of this research to humans is, it could save lives and can keep us safe in our lives. It can be applied in practice, it is helpful in emergency landings, because if emergency landings occur everyone can go to the side of the aircraft that is supposed to get detached, and when they all go there they detach the cabin from the aircraft and then hopefully everyone lands safely to the ground or to the water. I learned from this research that if we can afford it and apply it would save a lot of people in the world and it can keep them safe.

Evaluation

Research skills: we applied research skills in our project, when we began researching in our topic.

Self-Management skills: we self-managed ourselves in our group by, each member in our group has his own role to do.

Thinking skills: we were thinking about our project and it’s problem/solution.

Communication and social skills: we communicated with each member in the group and socialized with other people to get information and other things for our project.
