Shelf
This is an instructable to build a simple shelf; nothing fancy just a simple shelf for books and decorations with borders.
Supplies
To start make sure you have one big piece of ply would be about 5 by 4 feet.
Then have 4 small screws and 10 medium nails for making sure it sticks together.
Then grab two pieces of thin wood for the border with a length and height of 1 foot and ensure the hypotenuse is 17.5 inches.
Have a screwdriver and a jigsaw on hand for cutting and putting together.
The Slab
First, you're going to take a 3-by-1-foot measurement from the plywood and cut it out with the jigsaw.
Border Pieces
Next measure the thin wood and make sure it has a hypotenuse of 17.5 inches then cut it out with the jigsaw.
The Anchors
Then measure 4 other pieces of plywood where two will have a length of 8 inches and 2 will have a length of 6 inches but both will be a width of 3 inches and cut them out with a jig saw.
Start of the Shelf
Then nail the two thin pieces of triangle wood to the sides of the width sides of the 3 by 1 and make sure you use three nails on each side; two on the far left and right and one in the middle for both.
Attach the Anchors
Nail two nails to the eight-inch pieces to the 3-inch side of the 6-inch pieces for the anchors.
Final Touch
Then finally mark the 1-foot and 2-foot margins on the 3-foot wood and use two screws to connect the anchors to the shelf board.
