Sign With LEDs
This is a project to make a wood sign with LEDs
Supplies
You need a piece of wood, LEDs, wires, PLA, a hot glue gun, you will need to 3D print, CNC, and solder for this project so make sure you have access to this.
3D Print the Letters
Go into onshape and make text for the sign, then change the dimensions using the dimension tool (d) to your liking. Go into assembly at add all of your parts. Right click on the assembly at click export. Format it with STL and export the file. Add the supports and slice the whole plate. Click export all sliced file and export onto a flash drive.
Prepare the Wood
You will then get your piece of wood and CNC it. I am not going to make a step-by-step guide to CNC but after you CNC you would get a piece of that looks like the second picture. Then measure out the letters on both side to make it even, and hot glue the letters onto the wood. Get two screws and screw them into the back of the wood evenly.
Solder the LEDs
Solder the wires to each of the LEDs making a W pattern for both power and ground and make it a parallel circuit. After soldering all the LEDs attach it to power and ground source from 4 double a batteries. Hot glue the wires and battery down to the wood to keep wires from touching and it attached to the board.
