Small Workshop Gararge
In this instructible, you will see a step-by-step guide on how I built this small workshop garage. This garage is inspired by a garage that my dad has. I have always wanted to make a garage but I never had the chance to do. Now because of this contest, I was finally able to build the garage that I had in the back of my mind.
Supplies
For the computer model, I used Rivit 2025.
Problem Identification
The first thing that I figured out was the problem. This guided me on the right track on what to do.
Collecting Information
I wanted to build either a tiny home or a workshop garage. After much research, I decided to build a small workshop garage instead of a tiny home.
Brainstorming
For the first iteration, I would have the garage and workshop separated by an invisible wall. When I finished the first draft I realized that I could improve on it, so I made a second iteration of my design. For the final design, I went with a configuration that was inspired by the second draft that I had made.
Build a Model
After I laid the groundwork for my model, I realized the scale of the building and decided to start again and make it smaller so I did not make it far on my first model.
Improve My Design
For my second design, I downsized the ideas that I had in mind for my first model and deleted certain parts from the first draft, and added new parts to the second draft.
The Final Product
My final design consists of an outside with many windows for natural light. A garage door in the front so cars can get in, and a door on the right side. On the inside, the left wall has six cabinets, four lockers, and a wooden countertop. Three of those cabinets have four drawers so that wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, etc can be neatly organized. Two of those cabinets have one big drawer so that drills and impact guns can be elegantly put away. The last cabinet is one for a garbage can. The four lockers are for anything that does not fit in drawers (like paint, spray paint, grease, etc). On the front wall, there are two more lockers, two cabinets, and a sink. The two cabinets have one small drawer and one bigger drawer.
