Space Rocket Drawing Using Simple and Recycled Materials

Introduction

This project uses recycled and reused materials to create a fun art activity for kids. We start by drawing the rocket, then glue the drawing onto recycled cardboard, wrap it with cling wrap, and let children color on top. The cling wrap allows the coloring to be wiped off and redone easily.

Supplies

1. White paper reused from children’s leftover drawing sheets at school
2. Cardboard taken from my personal recycling box
3. Glue
4. Paintbrush
5. Marker
6. Coloring pencils for kids
7. Cling wrap

Step 1: Draw the main artwork

Draw the rocket, planets, stars, and the ground using a marker.

Step 2: Apply glue to the cardboard

Spread a thin layer of glue on the cardboard using a paintbrush.

Step 3: Attach the drawing to the cardboard

Place the drawing on top of the glued cardboard and press gently to secure it.

Step 4: Wrap the artwork with cling wrap

Cover the entire drawing with cling wrap, making sure it is tight and smooth.

Step 5: Let kids color on top of the cling wrap

Children can use coloring pencils to color directly on the cling wrap.

Step 6: Wipe and recolor easily

The cling wrap allows the coloring to be wiped off and redone, making the activity reusable and fun.
