I made a spaghetti themed hat, because I thought it would be better to have a fun and unique hat that looked like a delicious food that you can wear on your head!

Supplies

The materials you are going to need are:

  1. Yellow string
  2. Cardboard box
  3. Paper plate
  4. Scissors
  5. Fiberfill (pillow stuffing)
  6. Brown marker
  7. Brown fabric
  8. Hot glue gun
  9. Hot glue sticks
  10. Gray marker
  11. Red pom poms
  12. Yellow paper (not shown in picture)
  13. Foil (not shown in picture)

Size and Trace

Carefully, trace the cardboard plate around the person’s head, so it will fit them perfectly. Then, carefully cut the edges off so there’s a hole in the middle of the plate that will fit the person’s head.

Get Your Structure Pieces Ready

Use the piece of cardboard that got cut out of the middle of your paper plate. Make sure to keep that because we will need it later. And then. Cut out strips from your cardboard box about the length of a skinny marker or pencil. Then make sure to have the strips are about 1 inch thick.

Glue Your Structure Together

image.jpg

Hot glue all cardboard strips at a slight angle so it looks like a hat shape. Then, glue the cut out circle from the inside of the paper and the paper will be glued it on the top of all cardboard strips. Make sure to pick the desired height because that will be how tall your spaghetti will be. Mine ended up being about 3 inches tall.

Cover It in Paper

Cover the whole thing, but the paper plate in yellow paper. Cut if needed.

Make the Meatballs

image.jpg

Next take out your brown fabric and don’t forget the stuffing! Then fold the brown fabric in half and cut out a circle. Glue around the edges but leave a tiny space so you can fill it with stuffing. Then glue the hole where you filled it with so it’s a full meatball.

Color It

image.jpg

Color the top plate that you did not cover in yellow paper, color it yellow with a yellow marker or sharpie.

Make the Fork

image.jpg

Put your meatballs aside get out your cardboard and don’t forget the foil! Then trace a work outline on about the length of a pencil, long cardboard piece. Once you have it traced carefully, cut out the fork out of the cardboard and wrap it in foil so it looks that shiny metallic color you want it to look like.

Add the Noodles

image.jpg

Now take your yellow string and wrap it all crazy in any pattern you like around your whole spaghetti tower on your hat. and hot glue string on when you figure out your pattern. Make sure it is messy looking so it looks like spaghetti.

Glue the Fork

image.jpg

Once you’re satisfied with how much string you put on, take the end of your string and hot glue to your fork. Then wrap around the end, the rest of the end of the string around the fork and hot glue the fork where you where you want it.

Add the Sauce

image.jpg

Once you’re done with that, take out your red pom-poms and rip them apart, so they become red fluff, Then add to your hat to make it look like sauce.

Put It All Together

image.jpg

When you’re done with that next step, add your meatballs anywhere you’d like on your hat. Make sure to hot glue them nicely so they do not fall off.

Extra

If you would like to add any other extra noodles or extra sauce or make any last-minute changes, that’s ok.

All Done

Then you have your spaghetti hat!!!🍝
