What I Am Making: In this instructable I will be making Chelsea's home stadium, Stamford Bridge.

Why I Am Making This: I am making this just for fun and because I am a big fan of Chelsea (always was and always will be).

Info About Chelsea: So far in 2025 they won the UEFA Conference League which made them the first team to win all 4 UEFA trophies (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Super , and Conference League)!! Next they won the FIFA Club World Cup which now makes them the best in the world, and since they now won the Club World Cup that made them the first team to ever win all the major football trophies🤯!!

Before I made my stadium, I went and looked at some pictures of Stamford Bridge to get an idea of what it should look like. For this stadium, I’m building it as a three-dimensional rectangular frame. The East Stand and Matthew Harding Stand have seating, and the West Stand and Shed End are left open so you can look inside and see the field and details. (If you are still not understanding, see my designs below).

To start, I designed my stadium in Tinkercad. If you don't have Tinkercad feel free to sketch your design on paper or you can follow this link to open Tinkercad on your browser: Tinkercad. Feel free to play around with your design and make it unique. PS: I will be mentioning my dimensions for my stadium further on.

Making the Base

To make the base of the stadium I use wood. My piece of wood is 17 cm long, 13 cm wide and 2 cm thick. To cut the wood you can use any saw that cuts wood. My wood piece is already the right size so I don't need to cut it. The part in red on my piece of wood that you see in the image is where the soccer pitch will go (the green part from my design).

Making the Pitch Perimeter and Pitch

The dimensions for all the sides of the pitch perimeter (the raised boundary sides around the soccer pitch) are 1 cm high and 0.5 cm thick. The East Stand and West Stand pitch perimeters are 13 cm long, and the Shed End and Matthew Harding Stand pitch perimeters are 8 cm long. The soccer pitch should be a rectangle that is 13 cm long and 8 cm wide and fits tightly in between your pitch perimeter.

Making the East Stand

The dimensions for my East Stand are 14 cm long and 4 cm wide. The East Stand will have two layers of seating, a bottom and a top. My stand will be 6 cm high.

  1. To make the structure of the East Stand you must cut out three rectangles from cardboard that are 6 cm high and 4 cm wide. Next, you need to look at my first image to know how to further cut each rectangle in the desired shape. I will be calling the cut out rectangles, "structures". Now, you are going to stick each structure on the wood. One will go on the left, one will go in the middle, and one will go on the right, like in my picture. Only glue the 4 cm base on each structure to the wood.

  1. Measure and cut out a 14 cm long and 4 cm wide cardboard piece and glue it along the 3 structures as shown in the image. Then, to make the back of the stand, measure and cut a 14 cm long and 6 cm wide cardboard piece and glue it to the back of your structures (as shown in the image).

  1. Measure and cut out a 14 cm long and 2.5 cm wide cardboard piece, this will be your bottom and top seating separator. Glue it just above the part where the 50° angle meets the rectangle part on your structure (as seen in the image).

  1. Measure and cut out two cardboard triangles that are 1 cm high, 2 cm long and that slope at a 30° angle. Glue them at the far sides on top of the seat level separator. The triangles should be glued against the top part of the structures where the rectangle-like part is (as seen in the image).

  1. Measure and cut out a cardboard rectangle that is 14 cm long and 2 cm wide. Glue the rectangle on the two triangles at the far ends (as seen in the image). If you want to you can add a bit more detail to your stands. The only thing that I added was a front barrier for the top section seating

  1. The last part of this section is to make the roof. My roof is 6 cm wide and 16 cm long. I added 2 cm more to the length so that it covers a bit of the Matthew Harding Stand. You can make your roof as big as you like, even stretching over the whole pitch (as shown in the image).

Hopefully my pictures helped in any parts you weren't understanding.

Making the Matthew Harding Stand

Now it's time to make the Matthew Harding Stand. The dimensions for my Matthew Harding Stand are 8 cm long and 3 cm wide.

  1. The first thing you want to do is cut out 2 triangles that are 3 cm wide, 4 cm high and they should have a slope of a 60° angle. Glue the triangles on the wood at each end of the stand, one triangle on one side and the other triangle on the other side (as seen in the image).

  1. Measure and cut out a rectangle that is 4 cm wide and 8 cm long. Glue the rectangle on the 60° part of the triangles. This will be the seating place (as seen in the image).

  1. Measure and cut a rectangle that is 4 cm high and 8 cm long. These are the same measurements as your seating place, but this will be the back of the stand. Glue this piece on to the back of the triangles (as seen in the image).

  1. Measure and cut an 8 cm long and 3 cm wide rectangle. This will be your roof for the stand. Glue it on to the top part where the sitting part and the back of your stand meet (as seen in the image).

Again, hopefully my pictures helped in any parts you weren't understanding.

This is going to be a fun step. It's colouring in the stadium. I just used some simple colour markers for this. The main colours of Chelsea are blue and white. The pitch is green with the white markings for penalties, goalkeeper box, and more. Feel free to decorate your stadium however you like, but the main part is just to have fun. Also if you want to add more details to your stadium please do so. The only thing that I added are goal posts to make the soccer pitch look a bit more realistic.

I hope you had lots of fun making this project and I'm sure your stadium looks great!!
