Star Wars Fidget Spinners
In this instructable I will show you how to make star wars inspired fidget spinners. Fidget spinners are all the rage right now and I decided to jump on the trend train. These spinners are cool but dont go overly fast because they aren't weighted. Nevertheless, they are still pretty cool. Any Star Wars fan will love them.
Tools & Materials
1. wood
2. skateboard bearing
3. scroll or coping saw
4. paint
5. super glue
Preparing the Wood
I used spray adhesive to attach the template to the wood. I decided to use a forstner bit to drill out the hole for the bearing. The one I had was the same size as the bearing but I would suggest going smaller and getting a friction fit.
Cutting Out the Designs
I decided to cut these out on the scroll saw because they are so thin. The imperial logo took a long time to cut because I had to stop to change the blade multiple times to cut out all the inner pieces.
I repeated the same process for the rebel logo
Sanding & Finishing
I sanded them using 120 grit to get it smooth to the touch.
I decided to use spray paint to color these so they are nice and vibrant.
Glue on the Bearing
If you have a friction fit with the bearing then that is great and skip this step. if not, use super glue to hold the bearings in place.
If your bearing is slow hit it with wd-40.
Enjoy Your Spinner!
I love how this project came out I actually originally made the imperial spinner for Bob Clagget from I Like To Make Stuff. I got to meet him last week. If you haven't seen his youtube channel go check it out.
These are a lot of fun even though they spin as fast as other fidget spinners.
