Music is in everyone's life! Whether it be listening to or playing it, it's all over the world. I've been playing clarinet ever since I was 13 years old. I still play an improve my skills on it today. This has inspired me to create what I like to call the Straw Clarinet. It's fun and easy to make and kids will definitely enjoy them.

Materials

2) Scissors

3) Your Musical Playing Skills

Mouth Piece

To create the mouthpiece, all you need to do is cut a triangle shaped top. Once you blow into the Straw, the two sides of the Straw should vibrate with one and another to create a pitch.

Make Different Pitch's

To add different pitch's you need to add holes down the Straw. How this is done is by first folding the straw in half. Next you need to cut diamond shapes along the edge of the fold. These will become your keys. Add anywhere from 1-8 different holes along the same edge.

Have Fun!!!

Take your new straw clarinet, blow from the triangular side (make sure it busses while you play), and play a song with your different keys. You will definitely be entertained with this instrument for a long time.
