I chose to make these Cinnamon Buns because I orginaly wanted to make sourdough but I went to my grandmas and couldn't bring my sourdough starter,so I decided to make these ones instead and they actually taste exactly like sourdough Cinnamon Buns but without the sourdough!

Making the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm milk , yeast and sugar, then let it sit for 5 minutes until slightly foamy

To the bowl of milk, yeast and sugar Add eggs , melted butter , salt , and 4 cups of flour. Mix until a soft dough forms. Then knead for 6-8 minutes, - if the dough gets sticky you can add a little more flour. The dough should be soft and not dry

Let It Rise

Place the dough into a greased bowl , then cover with a damp towel and let it rise for 1 to 1 and a half hours until the dough doubles in size.

Roll and Filling

Mix brown sugar , cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl, then roll the dough into a large rectangle , spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over top and roll it tightly into a log shape.

Cut

Once the dough is rolled into a log shape use a knife to gently mark where you are going to cut.

Cut and Place Into Dish

Then cut it into 12 rolls and place them into a greased baking dish.

Second Rise

Let the rolls in the baking dish rise for a second time by covering the dish with a damp towel for 30-40 minutes(I like to let mine rise in a oven with the light on for the best results) until puffy.-After the rolls are done rising preheat the oven to 350 Degrees F

Cover With Heavy Cream

After the rolls are done rising before you bake them , pour the warm heavy cream over and around the rolls.- this is what is going to make the cinnamon buns soft and gooey.

Bake

Bake the rolls for 23-28 minutes , until lightly golden on top and cooked all the way through.

Make Icing

While the rolls are cooking make the icing by beating together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar , vanilla and salt until smooth and fluffy.

Final Step

Once the rolls are out of the oven and fully cooked (not over cooked) spread the icing over the warm rolls so it melts into them. As you can see in the photo these cinnamon buns were very delicious as my sisters had already took two before I could take a photo

Reflection

I loved making these cinnamon buns and they were actually really easy to make as well. What I learned while making these is that when you let the dough rise, the fastest and most efficient way is to put it in a turned off oven with the light on, that way the dough has a warm space to rise and it also makes the dough rise way faster.
