THE THETA BINMASTER

A binary watch is cool enough, but a binary watch that uses usb ports as a wrist strap is something that James Bond couldn't even pull off. You have to have the brains and the style of a geek in order to sport this watch. And if the fashion statement isn't enough, this watch from ThinkGeek incorporates a hidden flash drive to store top secret data!

First of all, you need an idea, but for this instructable, that has already been provided. The materials for this instructable include:
1) A Binary Watch (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/watches/6a17/) After much use, mine needed some upgrading.
2) A Small Flash Drive (Consider the Pico Drive: http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/thumb-drives-storage/a6d9/)
3) A-type USB connection and receptacle (A USB extension cable works good for this)
4) Leather-like material to conceal your inner workings.
5) Safety Glasses, Soldering iron, Solder, Scissors, Sewing Supplies, Crazy Glue, and a Dremel tool (optional).

What you'll want to do first, is get your flash drive prepped for assembly. If your flash drive is in a case, you may want to remove it in order to allow your wrist strap to move about freely. You may need to use power tools to get it out, but be careful not to obliterate the flash drive. Then, if you plan on soldering, make sure you have a clean surface to sand on.

Once your flash drive is prepared for soldering, cut and strip the wires from the usb connection and solder them to the flash drive. After the wires are soldered, position the flash drive where you want it to go, and stitch away. A sewing machine is helpful, but be careful not to sew through the flash drive, as you may damage the components. I found a combination of hand sewing and machine sewing to be helpful. Once you're done sewing and cleaning up, you're ready to show off your stylish, yet sneaky ultra-gadget! As requested, version 2.0 is complete (see additional photos). The Theta Binmaster 2.0 offers a cleaner look, more comfortable fit, and a more flashy wrist band.
