The Heart of the Red Apple: a Miniature World

When people see an apple, they only see its beautiful red skin. But I imagine what if there was an entire little world hidden inside it.

This project is my interpretation of the Red color in the Rainbow Contest. Instead of simply making something red, I wanted the color itself to become the home of a tiny magical world.

The project is completely handmade using Plaster of Paris for the base structure and air-dry clay for sculpting the miniature details. Every tree, rock, pathway, and pavilion was sculpted and painted by hand.

I first created the basic apple shape using Plaster of Paris (POP).

Instead of focusing on tiny details, I concentrated on getting a smooth and realistic apple form.

After the base was ready, I covered and refined it with air-dry clay.

This allowed me to smooth imperfections to create a more natural apple shape.

Using air-dry clay, I sculpted the entire landscape inside the apple.

I built the scene piece by piece, allowing each section to dry before adding the next.

Once everything had dried completely, I painted the entire project using acrylic paints.

The apple was painted in vibrant shades of red to represent the contest theme, while the miniature landscape was painted with natural colors to create contrast and depth.

Finally, I added small finishing touches, corrected tiny imperfections, and sealed the project with a protective coat (optional).

This project represents my interpretation of Red.

To me, red is not only the color of an apple but also a symbol of warmth, imagination, and life.

I wanted to create something that encourages people to pause, look closer, and discover that even the simplest objects can hide extraordinary stories.
