Underwater ROV Remote Repair
I repaired a underwater ROV remote. The phone-stand had a loose screw which led to instability for the phone stand, and the loose screw touching the circuit board and causing a loss of connection with the ROV. To repair this I took the remote apart, tightened all the screw and put it back together.
Supplies
Chasing Gladius Mini-S remote controller
Phillips Head screw-driver
Opening the Remote
Unscrew the back panel of the remote control.
Disconnecting Wires
Disconnect the signal-wire and the power-wire on the backside of the remote.
Disconnecting More Wires
Disconnect the joystick wires and other control wires.
Removing Circuit Board
Unscrew the circuit board from the base of the remote.
Fixing the Screw
Screw in the missing screw on the back panel of the remote to tighten the phone-stand.
Re-connect Wires
Screw the circuit board in and plug all wires back in.
While re-connecting these wires I encountered one mistake when I re-connected a wire that needed to be re-connected before fastening the screws on the circuit board since it couldn't fit above the circuit board. To overcome this issue I simply loosened one screw and slid the wires underneath part of the circuit board and then re-connected the signal wire.
Last Step
Re-screw the back panel of the remote to the front panel.
