Vinyl Wood Burned Clock
In this project I made a clock with vinyl and a wood burning tool.
Supplies
1. vinyl
2. vinyl cutter
3. wooden board
4. clock mechanism
5. wood burning tool
6. fake moss
7.drill
Set Up the Images in the Vinyl Cutter Program
I started by finding a file on the program I was using and at the beginning it was all one layer so I had to separate the layers. I also had to make them the right dimensions because later on I will be layering them on each other to make one thing.
Cutting the Layers
After I finished everything on the program I sent them to the vinyl cutter to cut. I cut each of them individually. After you cut them you have to weed out the pieces that you don't need and once you've done that put over a clear adhesive piece of vinyl so it can stick on that.
Putting the Layers Together
First I put the black layer down and then I put the holographic layer over it making sure to line it up properly. Then I carefully put the blue layer over both those layers to make one sticker.
Putting It on the Board
With the board I got I placed down the sticker in the middle of it. I then the got the clock mechanism I bought and set it up, but first I needed to drill a hole in the middle so with a drill I drilled a small hole in the middle of the board and put the clock mechanism in it and set it all up.
Adding the Numbers
I made numbers using the same program and vinyl cutter. With the text setting I typed in 3,6,9,12. I then printed them out all at once and put them on the clock
Final Touches
I was just going to leave it how it was but I wanted it to look cooler so using a burning wood tool I added leaves in the middle and around the border. I then added moss to make it look cooler. I added it using a hot glue gun which worked out well and I loved how this project turned out.
