What I Made From a Spray Foam Gun. a Genius Idea That Will Surprise You!
In this video, I will show you how to make an interesting DIY project using a foam gun. For this, I ordered several components from the JLCMC website, and you won’t believe the prices! For example, the fitting I used for the assembly costs only $0.14. JLCMC is the perfect choice for anyone working on DIY projects or in small businesses. Plus, if you're a new user on the site, you have a great opportunity: by registering, you will receive a $19 coupon for purchases! This is an amazing opportunity to try out affordable yet high-quality components and fully appreciate all the benefits of JLCMC. Supplies
- Foam gun
- Switch
- Wires
- 2 alligator clips for contacts
- Car compressor
- High-pressure tube (JLCMCL)
- Fitting (JLCMCL)
- 3 20x20 mm corner brackets
- Clips for 32 mm polypropylene pipes
- Bolt and nuts (JLCMCL)
- Aluminum canister (from deodorant or any other liquid)
- Plastic bottle
First, we need to measure the size of the switch and then transfer the measurements onto the handle of the foam gun. Using a drill of the appropriate size, we drill a hole and then carefully cut it to create the required indentation where the switch will fit.
We connect the wires to the alligator clips, and the other ends of the wires are passed through the holes meant for the switch. Then, we solder the switch, first checking the working contacts with a tester. Finally, we install the switch in its designated spot, securing it with a few drops of super glue.
Next, using cold welding, we install the fitting into the upper part of the foam gun, where the connection to the foam canister is meant to be. Note that cold welding remains soft for the first 5 minutes, after which it starts to gradually harden, making it more difficult to work with if you try to adjust it further.
Prepare the container: for this, take a canister from any deodorant or, as in my case, I use a canister from a children's saline solution. Then, place the pre-cut top part of a plastic milk bottle onto it. Using a heat gun, heat the bottle, which will allow the plastic to shrink and tightly wrap the aluminum container, thanks to its shrink-wrapping properties.
Assemble the required mounting using three corner brackets, bolts with nuts, and clips for securing 32mm polypropylene pipes.
Take a gel pen refill and an additional tube, which we connect together to create the required length. First, remove the metal part and plastic connector from the refill, and blow out all the ink. Finally, secure the gel pen tube and the small air intake connector in a vertical position.
Using two metal clamps, we secure the mount at the edge of the tube of the gun. This way, we create an excellent holder for the container we prepared earlier.
Finally, we need to assemble all the components into one unit. Through the switch, we will connect the car compressor so that when the button is pressed, the circuit closes and the compressor is activated. When we don't press the foam gun trigger, the circuit opens, stopping the compressor. We will also need to fill the container with paint.
We’ve created a fantastic portable painting tool! With it, you can easily paint various objects. For example, if you need to paint a car fender or bumper, you can simply connect our system to the car cigarette lighter and use the DIY paint sprayer. And if you need to paint a fence or a small part where there’s no nearby power source, you can use a small battery like mine and paint anywhere, anytime — even in the middle of a forest!
