Wings of Fire Crochet Dragon

I am a fan of the book series Wings of Fire, and I like to crochet dragons. I decided to try and make my own pattern and this is the outcome. I call my red and yellow dragon mustard.

Supplies

  1. weight 3 or 4 red yarn (or any other color)
  2. weight 3 or 4 yellow yarn (or any other color)
  3. weight 3 or 4 black yarn
  4. weight 3 or 4 gray yarn
  5. Gauge 14 jewelry wire
  6. 2x6mm safety eyes
  7. wire cutters
  8. 4mm crochet hook

Crochet All of the Parts of the Dragon

Body

With red yarn (stuff lightly as you go along).

Rnd 1. 8 sc in magic ring (8)

Rnd 2-5. 8 sc (8)

Rnd 6. 2 sc, 4 inc, 2sc (12)

Rnd 7. 4 sc, 4 inc, 4sc (16)

Rnd 8. 16 sc (16)

If using safety eyes, place them in between rows 6 and 7, 3 stitches apart on the top of the

Wing Assembaly

  1. Sew the Wing support arm part A and the Wing support arm part Bs to the Main wing support arm.
  2. Sew the webbing part A and webbing part B to the wing assembly.
  3. Sew the webbing part Cs onto the wing assembly.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 with other wing.

  1. Sew the underbelly onto the bottom of the body.
  2. Sew the spines along the back of the body, starting at the tip of the tail and ending on top of the head.
  3. Sew the horns on the top of the head.
  4. Sew the front and back legs to the body.
  5. Insert the wire through the body above the front legs.
  6. Insert the wings onto the wires and sew the wings onto the body.
  7. Trim the extra wire.
  8. Sew lines onto the underbelly.
