I recently found my grandmothers old cookie press while going through some of the items my mother gave me from our old storage unit.

Also, I love chocolate.

THUS THE WORLD'S FASTEST COOKIES WERE BORN! I decided to use Nana's chocolate spritz cookie recipe. It is really REALLY simple. In total, these cookies took me 6 minutes to make, and 5 to bake. 11 MINUTE COOKIES!!!

Condensed Recipe:
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-1/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Tools Needed:
  • Cookie Press
  • Bowl for dry ingredients
  • whisk
  • Stand mixer, or hand mixer
  • Rubber/Silicone Spatual
Pre-heat the oven to 350.

Blend Dry Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the salt, flour, and cocoa power. Whisk them together until they are fully integrated.

Cream the Butter

Cream the butter and sugar together, with the egg and vanilla, until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Add Dry to Wet.

With the mixer set to a low speed, pour dry ingredients in. Once all dry ingredients are mixed, kick the mixer up to high for a few minutes. The mixture should be a little stiff.

Jam It in the Cookie Press, and Prep Pan.

Make sure the cookie press is clean, then, with a silicone spatula, jam all of the dough in there. Make sure you have an ungreased cookie sheet nearby.

Twist and Press.

Each cookie press is a bit different, and depending on your extrusion holes, may take different amount of pressing. I found that a full turn was just the right amount of dough. The cool thing is, if you mess up, you can just jam the dough back in the press!

You remembered to pre-heat the oven to 350 right?

Bake and Serve
