ZIp Ties and Perler Beads Necklace

final result.JPG

When I saw the zip-tie contest it reminds me the zip tie-perler bead combination in a necklace (see for example Mark montano's beaded zip tie necklace).

As I wanted to do one for my 5 year old daughter, I take the opportunity to make one with her this morning and enter the contest with an instructable.

It is my first instructable and English is not my native language, feel free to tell me if I do some mistakes ;)

Gather Material

Just grab some zip ties, scissors, perler beads, and (for security) clasp, ring and wire.

String Beads

String beads on the zip tie.
I've just taken beads at random.

String 10 beads per loop.

Add Loops

Add one more loop like the first,

close it taking the previous loop in the inside.

Cut zip tie in excess.

Repeat

Repeat previous steps, until your necklace is long enough.

Finish

Close the necklace with nylon thread and clasp and you have a colored necklace ;)

One could close the necklace with a zip tie, but I believe a clasp and nylon is a better option against strangulation risk.
