Easy Voodoo Doll Costume

This is a super simple and unisex Halloween costume - the voodoo doll! At the bare minimum, all you really need is a heart and some pins to attach to your clothes. Anything you do after that is just a bonus!
I decided to go ahead and do makeup, too.
But regardless of what you do, a voodoo doll costume is a great last minute idea for Halloween. It'll only take a couple hours to throw together - even less if you take some shortcuts. :D

What You'll Need:

- red felt
- wire
- foam balls
- hot glue gun
- red paint
- painbrush
- small safety pins (for attaching the heart)
You might also want some face paints. I really recommend Ben Nye brand paints - the black and red are that brand and they were great to work with!
Paint the Foam Balls

Should just take a couple coats. If you're in a rush you can use a hairdryer on low to help speed it up. :D
Cut Out Some Hearts

Pretend you're in elementary school! Fold a sheet of paper in half and draw the best heart you can. Cut it out of the paper and figure out if the size is right for you. I had to bring it down in size twice.
Once the size is right, cut it out of both pieces of felt.

Assemble the Heart

Because I was using thick wire, I glued three sheets of craft foam to the felt base, and then stabbed the wire through the top layer of felt and into the craft foam and applied lots of glue everywhere.
If you're using thinner wire, cut it really long so that you can poke it through the top layer of felt and then spiral it on the backside of the felt and glue it down. That way it's still stable but not as bulky. :)

Makeup Clothes

I applied white paint to my face - but not a thorough coat, I wanted it to look a little grey. Then I applied red around my eyes and black on top of that.
Painted in my brows, used some eyeliner and lipstick, and taaa-daa!
As far as the dress, I chose the warmest one I had and pinned the heart onto the front of it.

Party!

You'll have more time to eat candy since your costume took so little time. SUCCESS
