Using a ruler and a pencil, draw straight, parallel horizontal lines across the page.

Carefully cut along the drawn pencil lines using your scissors. You will end up with several long, uniform strips of paper showing different sections, colors, and text from the map.

Take a single strip of map paper and place your toothpick or thin rod at one end. Lightly wrap the edge of the paper around the rod to kickstart the roll. Keep the paper tightly wound to ensure your bead is solid and sturdy.

As you reach the end of the strip, apply a small dab of craft glue to the inside tail of the paper. Complete the roll and press firmly for a few seconds until the glue sets, securing the cylindrical shape.

Thread your nylon cord or beading wire. Start building your necklace pattern by alternate stringing:

1. ​Slide on one small black accent bead.
2. ​Slide the cord through the center hole of a paper map bead.
3. ​Add another accent bead.

Lay out your ending hardware: a lobster claw clasp for one side of the strand and a smooth metallic jump ring for the other.Thread the nylon cord through the small base eyelet of your lobster clasp. Pull the cord tight against the seed beads, tie a pair of secure jewelry knots right against the metal loop, and add a tiny drop of craft glue to lock the knot in place. Repeat this process on the opposite side of the cord with your jump ring.

Make sure all rolled paper tubes are tight and equal length Apply a little glue at the end so they don’t open Let them dry properly.

Take a thin needle Carefully insert it through the center of all paper rolls (like stacking them)

Arrange them evenly (3 rolls per earring looks nice). At the top of the wire, leave a little space Bend it into a small loop using fingers or pliers.This loop will hold the hook.
