Wunderwaffe DG-2 (call of Duty Zombies)

in this instructable i will be showing you how to make the wunderwaffe dg-2 from call of duty zombies.

tools: hot wire cutter, carving knife, emery paper, pencil, paintbrush, glue gun, junior hacksaw, pliers.
materials: 25mm styrofoam, acrylic paints, plastic bag, aluminium tube (I got mine from the handle bar of a bike), magnets, pvc piping, masking tape, coat hangers (metal), wire.

get an image of the wunderwaffe dg-2 from the internet and paste it into a CAD drawing program. use the drawing tools to create a template stencil to
use on the Styrofoam. the template only needs to be outlines as shown in my file. you also need to scale the templates to a size that suits your size (I did not have measurements to go by) and then set up templates on the page ready to print.

next you need to print out the templates to scale. this is larger than 1 A4 page so you will need to split up the templates into sections then print. once printed stick the templates together with tape.

now you need to trace the templates onto the styrofoam. to do this use a pencil and draw over the lines and the foam below will have dents of the lines you need to cut. be careful not to press too hard and damage the foam and the templates. you can use the pencil to define the lines better on the foam if they are not clearly visible.

now you need to cut the templates out. for the is i used a hot wire cutter but you could use a craft knife as an alternative but may require more sanding. once you have cut out the pieces it is good to number up the template and the parts so that you do not get them mixed up. this also helps when it comes to construction.

now that you have your pieces use reference images to see the curves on the parts and use emery paper and a knife to define these curves and shapes. once carved use the emery paper to give it a good finish. your wunderwaffe should be taking shape.

now you start construction. first split the gun into sections (front, middle back). use a hot glue gun to join the styrofoam pieces together in those sections and leave to dry for a minute or so. once glued you can sand away any imperfections and check that you have not missed anything for the gun.

some of the gun is made of wire from metal hangers so you need to remove the plastic. you can bend then remove the plastic or remove the plastic then bend, either way works. to bend just use some force or use a pair of pliers to get a solid curve. you can also use the pliers to remove the plastic coating. once it is complete you can add it onto your assembly of parts.

now you need to put a base coat of acrylic on the sections. i used gray as it can give a worn effect in areas when it is shown through the paint. once painted leave it to dry on a plastic bag so that nothing gets stuck to it.

now you need to put the final main colour on the pieces which for mine was gold.  you can mix it with acrylic for a different tone and to thicken it up if it is too runny. once painted leave it to dry. (you may need to do more than 1 coat).

now you need to paint the details on the gun. you can use masking tape to mask off the areas to paint and to protect the rest of the gun from being painted. once the details have the first coat let them dry. add additional coats if need be. now you can remove the masking tape to reveal a nearly complete wunderwaffe.

this is the final construction so you need to use the hot glue gun to stick the painted sections together. now that you have a constructed wunderwaffe you can use dry brushing to add more detail and to give it a new or used look (this is a choice).

use the pvc piping and glue magnets inside and into the wunderwaffe.
